Staff Placement Scheme

The Sharing Skills Staff Placement Scheme gives people working in museums the chance to develop their skills, meet new colleagues and get a taste of how other organisations operate. Since its launch in 2006 50 different placements have been supported.

The scheme has recently been re-launched for 2008-09 and this year over 100 placements are available at more that 50 different organisations across the South East.

Who can apply?

The Scheme is open to paid staff and volunteers working at any level in Registered/Accredited museums in the South East.

How will the Placements work?

Placements will typically last between one and five days, but can be longer, depending on the host organisation. The days can be consecutive or over a period of weeks or even months.

Up to £500 is offered to support each placement, to cover costs such as travel, accommodation and subsistence. Expectionally, up to £1000 is available where your organisation requires extra staff to cover during your absence.

How do I apply?

Brochures and application forms are being sent to every Registered/Accredited museum during June 2007. You can also download a brochure and application form here or contact your MDO to request more copies.
