FREE TRAINING:
The ABC to Forward Planning
Forward planning is essential to the good management and future development of your museum and a requirement of the Museum Accreditation standard. The complexity and length of your plan will depend on the scale of your organisation and its future development plans, but the principles are the same for all museums. This course will give you the practical skills to write a workable plan that will help you achieve your objectives. You will also be offered practical tips for ensuring that your plan doesn’t gather dust on the shelf, but is a practical tool which you refer to in the next few years.
This workshop will:
- help participants understand and apply the principles of forward planning
- enable participants to start drafting a realistic and usable Museum Forward Plan that meets the requirements of MLA’s Accreditation standard
The workshop style of this event gives participants the opportunity to begin writing their own forward plan. For this reason it can be useful for 2 people from your museum to attend, so you can discuss ideas together. You could also consider bringing a trustee to training to involve them in the planning process.
