Hospital Schools

previous

Many museums are able to take their collections out to schools and hospital schools are no exception.

The Ashmolean Museum, Oxford developed an Art based outreach resource for hospitalised children and their families.

In autumn 2007 the National Portrait Gallery embarked on a year-long outreach project to work with 4 hospital schools, using the Gallery's Pop Art Portraits exhibition as a starting point. In addition to practical workshops the Gallery developed a toolkit to disseminate the methods used and challenges faced during the project.
