Value of School Trips for Key Stages 3 and 4

previous   next

School trips are a wonderful opportunity to really bring your subject alive.

They also raise the profile of your department and help create a 'feel good factor' which can have all sorts of benefits.

They are a good basis for assessments or coursework.

Photographs from trips make great displays which create interest in the subject in school. Keep them for Open Evening! They are particularly effective on a digital projector if you have this facility.

They are a great selling point at options time.

A write-up of the trip in the school newsletter is good publicity for the department.

A successful trip is also good PR for the school.

Contact your local museum to find out what resources they might be able to provide for Key Stage 3.
