Planning and Evaluating Using Generic Social Outcomes
Organised by MLA South East and Renaissance South East a FREE training day.
November 12th 2008 at The Museum of Kent Life, Maidstone.
The generic learning outcomes (GLOs), within MLA’s framework, are a basis for assessing
learning outcomes of museum, library and archive activities. The GLOs capture learning
but they don’t necessarily establish wider social outcomes associated with that learning.
The generic social outcomes (GSOs) build on GLOs to help evidence health and well-being
outcomes. Just as learning outcomes can be measured through the five GLOs within Inspiring Learning
for All.
Areas covered during the day
- Overview of the Generic Social Outcomes(GSO) Framework
- The national picture
- Thinking about outcomes and how they relate to our work
- Putting theory into practice
By the end of the day you will
- Relate the GSO’s to your work
- Be able to use the outcomes in practice
- Be able to evaluate what you do in terms of social impact
