Preparing School Staff and Pupils
In order to prepare for a school visit to a museum teachers will need:
- background information about the site they are to visit
- background information about the topic they are using the visit to support
- to prepare accompanying staff and helpers so that they have:
- a clear understanding of their role
- copies of background information
- activity summaries
- plans of the site
- to prepare their pupils for the visit.
To facilitate preparation for teachers museums can supply:
- background information about their site and the topic for the visit
- a map or plan of the site
- a summary of activities for the day
- pointers for preparation of staff and pupils.
These are all items which could be covered in your pre-visit planning with teachers.
