Booking Forms

Booking forms are an essential part of the visit for the following reasons because they:

  • formalise what the museum is offering
  • enable museum staff to tailor sessions, in consultation with teachers, to an individual school’s needs
  • provide information about the museum for the school
  • provide information about the school for the museum
  • give you a record of visits/school usage of museum
  • provide useful data for funders and governing bodies.

To speed up a school booking make it clear:

  • who is responsible for taking bookings
  • that people responsible for bookings understand:
    • what is on offer
    • what the procedures are
    • where the appropriate paper work is kept and who it goes to
    • who needs to be informed once the booking is made.

It is also advisable that:

  • the details of the booking are sent to the school and a signed agreement returned to your museum
  • staff and volunteers who will be leading a session with a school group are given a copy of the booking form.
