How to Evaluate
The National Trust, Friendly Evaluation Toolkit will:
- help you to understand the different types of evaluation
- encourage you to think about what you are trying to evaluate and how
- give some real, practical, useful examples of evaluation techniques that other people have used, and that you can modify for yourself
Important points to remember about evaluation.
- Keep it simple.
- Be realistic.
- Start small.
- There is no "big secret".
- One size does not fit all.
- It is not an exact science.
- There is no such thing as free evaluation. You will need to plan in some of your time (however limited).
- Share the evaluation with a colleague so you have someone with whom to plan and discuss your findings.
- Not all comments will be positive (management must realise this).
